Research Image Award 2022
We are excited to announce the Research Image Award within the Alabama Analytical Research Center (AARC) for the year of 2022! The deadline for image entry is January 31st, 2023. Winners will be announced on February 15th, 2023.
Research is about exploring, finding, and understanding nature. Images related to research can be instrumental in helping people better understand such discoveries. With this contest, AARC wants to highlight current research at the University of Alabama.
Undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral associates, and visiting scientists on and off the UA campus as well as industrial users who use the instruments at AARC for their research are invited to submit images taken at this facility for the contest.
Images can be either of these two categories:
• Microscopy Images: Must be taken at AARC. High-Res JPEG, TIFF or PNG formats
• Graphics / Illustration: Data must be taken at AARC. High-Res JPEG, TIFF or PDF formats
All entries will be judged by a multidisciplinary panel based on image quality, research significance, and visual impact. They should be original and effective at the information communicated. The work of finalists will be displayed at the AARC website.

Grand Award : $250
Runner-up : $150
Honorable mention: $100
